Coron | Palawan

Coron is a slice of paradise, that's how you will define Coron. once you saw how fascinating and stunning this place is. You will gaze in awe at the beautiful white beaches, turquoise water, limestone cliffs, volcanic lakes, natural hot springs, caves and a huge number of marine population and species. Coron belongs to the Calamianes Group of Islands and is located in the northernmost part of Palawan, on the Philippines southwestern border. Coron island is a portion of Busuanga island together with 20 more other islands in Palawan

When we arrived at Busuanga airport, I was very excited since this is my first time to go to Palawan, particularly Coron. So, after we got our things from the airport we need to travel 45mins to 1 hour from Busuanga airport to Coron Proper via van.

There are wide selection of  lodgings depending on your budget and needs. You can book yourself and find your own lodge once you arrive at Coron or if you want a package that fits your budget, book at Coron Package, a cheap Coron package tour that you can book online which will make it more convenient for you and your love ones.

First stop when we arrive at Coron is to climb at the 718 steps of Mt. Tapyas (one of the mountains in Coron)... Yes, you read it right! 718 steps but all I can say it's really worth it. It's highly recommended once you visited Coron. The best time to climb Mt. Tapyas is early in the morning, to see the sunrise or before the night falls to get a glimpse of the lovely sunset. Once on top, you see the breathtaking panoramic view of the islands and the mountains. You need to ride a tricycle (main transportation used in Coron) to go to Mt. Tapyas. If in case you got thirsty along your way up, no need to worry, there are kids that offers soda's and refreshing drinks for you.

After climbing the 718 steps of Mt. Tapyas, I'm a bit tired and exhausted plus my long way of travel to/from the airport. So, it's time to pamper myself as we go to Maquinit Hot Spring...

It's really therapeutic to take a dip at Maquinit Hot Spring. You will feel rejuvenated... Thumbs up!!!

If you still have some time and energy, you can go visit Coron Town Proper via Tricycle. The tricycle fare may vary, it is ranging from P8 to P10 per head which also depends on the distance.

If your planning to buy souvenirs, you can go to shops at Coron Proper or you can go to market, to buy Danggit for pasalubong (gift) to your love ones.... Of course I would not miss to buy Danggit as well for me and my family, and the price is affordable and reasonable. Just wrap it properly so you won't have problem in the airport when you leave.
